Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all!
2024 was a year of big changes for our family. The year began with us living in Morris, MN. I was working at a dental clinic in Morris and my husband was driving west to teach math and science in Graceville, MN. By the year’s end, we have fully embraced and made the move to Duluth. I’m loving my time at Pike Lake and Ed is teaching math at the Marshall School.
In a normal year, that would be plenty of excitement for most people. But we managed to squeeze a few more memories into the year in addition to moving completely across the state. In February, Ed & I traveled to Florida where we were able to visit NASA. Ed completed his master’s degree in math education at the beginning of May. My family has a tradition of going fishing at midnight on fishing opener, which was extra cool this year because the northern lights were out as we were fishing.
To kick off the summer, and to celebrate Ed’s graduation, we were able to spend a few days in Washington, DC, where we went to the Smithsonian Museums and spent a lot of time seeing as many of the tourist must-see buildings as we could. For the rest of the summer we tried to spend as much time as we could at the lake with family or exploring the Duluth area. Molly, our goldendoodle, really enjoyed our trip to Grand Marais.
Things slowed down for a bit when school started in September, but October got a little hectic again. In October, we went to a Steelers game in Las Vegas. We also bought a house in mid-October.
