COVID-19 has certainly affected our office and all we hold dear – our patients and our staff, friendships and laughter, even birthday lunches.
When we were recommended by the government authorities to close our doors to regular, non-emergency appointments a couple weeks ago, it was a very heart wrenching decision. Not only were Dr. Matt and Dr. Levi concerned for their patients, they were also worried for the staff and their families and how this closure would affect them.
At this time, we are not able to see hygiene appointments or anything in the doctors’ regular schedules. However, we are able to see emergency patients.
Cara has been going to the office to answer telephones from 8:00 am to noon every Monday through Thursday and there have been a surprising number of patients we have seen. Toothaches don’t wait for a virus to run its course!
Right now, we are only able to see patients that are in pain. If you are in pain, don’t hesitate to call! Our telephone number is (218) 729-7270. We would be happy to schedule an appointment for you with Dr. Matt or Dr. Levi. If you call outside our adjusted telephone hours, please leave a message and we will call you back.
In the meantime, if you have/had an appointment that was scheduled between March 19th and the end of April, we will be postponing it. We have been going through the schedules, reaching out to each patient to let them know either by phone call or voicemail that their appointment will be rescheduled once we are allowed to get back to normal work schedules. At this time, we don’t know when that will be. We are taking this one day at a time, just like the rest of the country is.
In summary, here are a few things to keep in mind during our closure:
- Call our office if you are in pain at (218) 729-7270. Emergency numbers are listed on our answering machine for nights and weekends.
- We do not want you to go to the emergency room or urgent care for a toothache.
- Please do not walk into our office without an appointment.
- All emergency visits are by appointment only.
- All regularly scheduled appointments with our office between March 19th and May 1st, 2020 will be postponed. We will call you to reschedule when we are back up and running.
We’ll keep you updated through our blogs, Facebook and Instagram on any changes and are eagerly awaiting the day when our whole squad is back together at PLDC.
Lastly, please know we miss you! We miss seeing our patients. We miss Sue’s laugh and Cassie’s giggle. We miss Sandy’s voice and Dr. Levi’s smile. Most of all, we miss YOU and are looking forward to seeing you soon!
